At Hearshop, we’re passionate about helping people enjoy clearer, more confident hearing. Based in the heart of Ruthin, we provide a full range of hearing care services — from free hearing tests and the latest digital hearing aids, to microsuction ear wax removal, tinnitus support, hearing aid servicing, and custom-made hearing protection.
Mr. Iain Norquay, FSHAA, is a fully qualified audiologist registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council). With over 30 years of experience, he has worked across both private practice and the NHS, building a reputation for expert care and a friendly, patient-focused approach.
Originally from Ruthin, Iain is proud to serve his local community. He can also speak ail iaith Cymraeg ac dw i’n trio dysgu mwy — meaning Welsh is his second language, and he continues to learn more every day to better support Welsh-speaking clients.
Iain qualified as an audiologist in 1992 and began his career working with private companies before moving into the NHS. He then opened his first branch in Nerja on the Costa del Sol in southern Spain, providing hearing care to both residents and the expat community.
On returning to the UK, he established a consultancy at the Sloane Private Hospital in Kent before deciding to come home to North Wales, where he opened his hearing care branch in Ruthin.
Alongside his clinical work, Iain has also dedicated time to charitable projects. He worked with Ear Aid Nepal, fitting new hearing aids for those in need. In 2015, while volunteering with the charity, he was present when the devastating earthquake struck Nepal. His efforts highlight his commitment to improving hearing health not only locally but also in some of the world’s most challenging environments.
Hearshop is led by Mr. Iain Norquay, FSHAA, a qualified audiologist with more than 30 years of experience in hearing healthcare. Iain has worked across both the NHS and private practice, in the UK and abroad, before opening Hearshop in his hometown of Ruthin. His professional expertise, combined with a warm and approachable manner, means you can be confident you’re receiving the very best care.
We’re proud to be an independent local business, not part of a national chain. That means you’ll always see the same friendly faces and receive care that’s tailored to your needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether it’s your first hearing test, a service on your existing aids, or advice on hearing protection, we’ll take the time to listen, explain, and find the right solution for you.
As well as caring for the local community here in North Wales, we’ve also supported international charities such as Ear Aid Nepal, helping people in developing countries access hearing care and hearing aids they would otherwise go without.
Your hearing is too important to ignore. Contact Hearshop today to arrange your free hearing test in Ruthin and take the first step towards clearer, more confident hearing.
